It is this time of the year again and we are getting ready to the Russian Art Week Winter 2019. Russian Art + Culture explains what it is and what to expect this year.
Russian Art Week was launched by RAC in 2011 and takes place twice a year, in autumn and spring, coinciding with the major sales of Russian Art at Sotheby’s, Christies, MacDougalls and Bonhams. It is an exclusive network which covers all the sales as well as Eastern Europe and Russia-related exhibitions and events held in London in the same period. Russian Art Week is a unique platform for communication among artists, art professionals, collectors, institutions and supporters of Russian Art and culture who come to London for the sales. RA+C supplies a handbook to help navigate the weeks’ London art scene – helping you to be in the right place at the right time.
RA+C publishes a comprehensive official guide to the Russian Art Week. It includes all the practical information such as the dates of sales with contact details, a list of featured events, a map of all important locations and overview of the top lots. The guide is the essential manual for anyone wishing to attend the sales, exhibitions, parties and other cultural events during Russian Art Week. It is available across London in the major cultural institutions, leading hotels and popular restaurants, such as the Russian Embassy, Arts Club, Courtauld Institute Wellcome Collection, Claridges, Dorchester, Browns, Connaught, the Ritz, Morton’s, Square Restaurant, Hide Restaurant and many others.
This year we collaborated with Malab’Art and Shapero Rare Books and will be presenting Art Impression – an exhibition featuring works by Maria Prymachenko, Grigor Kruk and Tetiana Yablonska.
Russian Art Week takes place between 22 – 29 November. This is when the major auctions take place and when the Russian artistic and cultural life in London is at its most lively. However, if you are not in London that week, worry not! The events included in the guide and covered on our website go beyond this time frame encompassing a few weeks before and after the event itself. Our guide is also available on the website.
